Filly breaks own track record at Saratoga Raceway

A filly by the name of 'Separationofpowers' has set a new track record for the three furlongs at Saratoga Raceway, previously held by a colt named 'Ichiban'.

The young filly was ridden by jockey Alex Solis who said " She felt great and I let her go. The horse in front of me, who had the record, I just let him go. It's all about the horse."

Separationofpowers is owned by Bo Pappas and trained by Christophe Clement. Pappas said " We bred her and raced her at 2, she didn't like to run on dirt so we put her in training with Christophe and he did a hell of a job."

This was only the second start for Separationofpowers who won impressively on debut at Belmont Park last month. Pappas went on to say " We'll probably go for a stakes race now or maybe the [Grade III] Adirondack. We'll see what Christophe thinks."
