Filly Shows Promise in First Race

A filly making her first start in a race at Churchill Downs showed plenty of promise, finishing a close second.

Filly #5 made her first start in a race Sunday, May 20, at Churchill Downs. She raced six and one-half furlongs on the dirt and finished just a neck behind the winner.

This filly has some talent and should improve with more experience. Trainer John Gorman said, "She ran well today. We'll see how she comes out of it and go from there."

Gorman was encouraged by the way his filly performed in her first race and thinks she has potential. He will continue to race her and see how she progresses.

Filly Steals the Spotlight at Churchill Downs

Just weeks ago, the racing world was abuzz with the news that a filly named Untapable was going to make her debut at Churchill Downs. She had already won three races in a row and was considered one of the top horses in the country.

Filly Flies to Victory at Keeneland

49-year-old jockey, Rosie Napravnik became the first woman to win at Keeneland race track on Sunday when she rode Filly to victory in the sixth race. "This is definitely one of my biggest accomplishments," Napravnik said.
