A chestnut filly by the name of "Dancing in the Rain" sold for $2.4 million at auction Saturday morning. This was the highest price ever paid for a filly at auction.

Dancing in the Rain is out of Storm Cat, who has produced stakes winners such as Grade 1 winner Summr Odds and grade III winner Dancingintherain. Her second dam is the stakes winner On The Road Again. Dancing in the Rain was purchased by Stoneway Farm.

The bidding on this filly went right to the top, with several groups vying for her services. In the end, Stoneway Farm emerged victorious, and will now own one of the most promising juveniles in racing.
